About Us

In 2013, the Williams siblings were looking for a way to honor their parents, Bob and Mary, for their lifetime of giving and generosity. They wanted to ensure their values carried through the next generations, so they established a charitable fund in their honor. WIGIV – the Robert and Mary Family Giving Plan – was founded in 2013. An organization in need is selected by Bob and Mary each year to receive the charitable focus by the 12 siblings, their spouses, and the 27 grandkids.

Efforts in 2014-15 were focused on the House of Peace Shelter, a shelter in north Chicago. It provides a secure, temporary residence for women and children suffering from domestic violence. Compassionate, culturally-sensitive programs allow the victims to recover their dignity and independence. Its vision is to provide a haven for healing and build the foundation for successful independence for families. Learn more at www.houseofpeaceshelter.org.

In 2016-17, while continuing to support House of Peace through volunteer work and furniture donations, WiGiv began supporting Salute, Inc., an organization based in Palatine, IL. Salute is dedicated to meeting the financial, physical and emotional needs of injured military service members, veterans and their families. Learn more at http://www.saluteinc.org.
